Indraneel ‘Neel’ Ray is a perfectly ordinary ex-advertising man who has recently bid farewell to his successful career to write the great Indian novel. He hasn’t quite begun writing it, but he knows he will, soon enough. In the meantime, he keeps himself busy with the occasional flirtation with attractive women and his regular dalliance with alcohol.
One morning, he comes to on the streets of New Delhi, disheveled, nursing a huge hangover, and with no memory of what transpired the night before. The television and the newspapers tell him that he spent last night allegedly murdering the son of a prominent politician and boss of the region’s land mafia. Apparently, all the evidence is stacked against him. He himself doesn’t remember killing anyone and can’t think of any reason why he would.
Now Neel is on the run, with the police pursuing him at every turn to arrest him, and a gang of mysterious goons hot on his heels to abduct and eliminate him, for reasons he doesn’t know. His friends have deserted him and the only person he can turn to for help is his ex-girlfriend, who is probably still mad at him for wrecking their relationship.
Runaway is the rollicking, breathless tale of Neel’s frantic attempts to stay ahead of his pursuers, to remember what happened on that fateful night, to establish his innocence, and to stay alive while doing all that.

About The Author
Proteem Bhaduri spends his days finding ways to translate brand and product stories into live experiences for people and generally thrashing about in the choppy waters of experiential marketing.
When he’s not at his day job, he can be found dabbling in experimental cooking, reading – anything he can get his hands on, really, but preferably fiction (and even more preferably, dark fiction) – and writing.
