Design the Future

350.00

Any significant event that has occurred in the history of man has always been about people. From global conquests to curing epidemics, inventing cars, space travel and even simplifying our daily lives with technology. Design thinking, the overhyped and less understood mindset has intentionally or unknowingly been at the heart of innovations-from the simplest of them by individuals to make household chores easier, that no one might ever hear about; to those by groups of brilliant scientists, lone innovators and hordes of selfless social volunteers working on improving lives the world over.
Design thinking is essential yet elusive as something like kindness or charity or even ethics and morality. This book aims at demystifying the seemingly complex but very fundamental yet essential mindset of design thinking to help you apply it to designing your business, your life, and possibly a better world.

About the Author

Shrutin N Shetty works at the intersection of management strategy, design thinking, and psychology. Working as a design strategist, he helps young businesses in India and abroad understand their customer needs better, and then with their innovation, strategy and growth. A computer engineer with an MBA in Finance, he has studied design thinking and is keenly interested in human behaviour. In his corporate career, he has worked across specializations and sectors including the BPO space, venture capital, metrology and industrial robotics.

He believes lives, business, and even the world can be transformed using design thinking-if only people and businesses picked goals genuinely worth pursuing and then actually pursued them! He is convinced that design thinking is man’s best chance to stay relevant, even when coexisting with robots someday.

By way of this book, he strives to unravel the elusiveness behind the overly-hyped but increasingly relevant practice of design thinking and to showcase its effectiveness. And more importantly, to make it simple enough for anyone to understand and hopefully practice, to design a better future for themselves.

When he is not working with companies on their innovation and growth, or conducting ideation workshops for companies and students, he spends time toying with a pet project in the social networking space.

He blogs at www.shrutinshetty.com.
