“Fraction of my Heart” is a book that basically showcases all sorts of human emotions; says Arijit Neogi

Arijit Neogi was born in a Bengali family in Durgapur (West Bengal) on 7thJan 1992. He moved to Bhubaneswar, Odisha in the year 1999 and was raised and educated there itself. His father works as an accountant in a private company in Bhubaneswar, while his mother is a homemaker. He is a patient, hardworking and suave person. He got his first job as soon as he completed his graduation in the year 2014. He is currently working for Capgemini India Private Limited at Hyderabad, India and stays along with his friends.

The writing bug bit him back in his college days and hence he took up writing as a platform to share his stories with people. It took him about 4 years to pen down his thoughts, create appropriate characters and narrate a modest yet touchy story. Fraction of My Heart is his first novel and he wishes to continue writing in future as well.

He wants to prove to the world that writing doesn’t come easily to people, but if it does, one should try to stick with it. It’s a blessing.

    Chit Chat Session

Tell us a little about yourself and your background?
I am someone who likes to take up challenges and do things differently. Hailing from a modest Bengali family, I was always supported to follow my passion. I have successfully come a long way from being an introvert to an expressive writer. Finally, an engineer by profession and a writer by passion!!

When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?
Well, I always had this keen proclivity towards sharing my stories and thoughts with people, but as mentioned, had always been an introvert back in my school days; I had to pull brakes to my thoughts. However, might be the time was right or probably so were my infallible intentions, I decided to venture into this beautiful world of writing at the very beginning of my college days.

What have you written? Give us an insight into your book
“Fraction of my Heart” is a book that basically showcases all sorts of human emotions, from love to jealousy,  to sacrifice, to a sense of belongingness and most importantly it takes us on a journey that breaks all stereotypes and prejudices that our Indian society possesses.
Grab a copy to read it!!

How did ‘Fraction Of My Heart’ happen? Could you describe the journey?
To be very honest, it was never easy. The very thought of writing a novel and projecting one’s thought to such a large mass is always a hard row to hoe. Pretty similar was that in my case, developing appropriate characters and binding them together with emotions was never a cake walk. It took me around three years to pen down everything. But as they say, one can only relish success after one has faced his strongest fears!!

How do you project the future of young writers in India?
Well, in a country like ours, we have an abundance of talent. The only stopper is the ignorance and at times, the arrogance of our society, which obstruct the path of a budding writer. I feel we should give equal respect to writing and root for it to be a full-time career as well. This would definitely inspire many.

Which Authors inspire you the most?
Well, I grew up reading novels of Agatha Cristie, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and obviously JK Rowling. I always give few extra marks to fiction writers!! They inspire a lot.

Currently, you work for Capgemini India Private Limited. How do you manage writing along with your hectic professional schedule?
That’s one of the reasons which took me more than three years to complete my book. I had to manage both. But the writer in me was arrogant enough to give up!! “No matter what, I had to write” were the words I told myself every time I felt low.

What is the most fulfilling part of writing this book? And what is the most challenging?
The characterization, their involvement, and bonding at different parts of the story were definitely the most challenging part. The most fulfilling part of writing this book was my capability to reach an unknown audience. Readers who now can trust my writing!!

What is the next book that you have planned?
Here, it comes!! I have already started working on it, and it’s based upon a very sensitive and lesser-known topic. It’s based upon law and crime and I promise it’s going to be a humdinger with an edge of a seat thriller!!  The storyline and concept are beyond imagination and has never been explored by any Indian writer. It’s going to be a first of it’s kind.

It would be very kind of you if you can say few words about our publishing and digital marketing venture, writing geeks.
It’s always a must for a writer to reach to a large audience and we need good, affordable and trustworthy service providers for that. Somehow, I came across writing geeks and ain’t I lucky?
