Tell us a little about yourself and your background?
I have had a hard life, thankfully. Every adversity proved itself to be an opportunity. I have grown through them celebrating my zest for life.
When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?
I have always wanted to pen down something for posterity. It became an obsession with me when I chose the vocation of a teacher at the college level.
What have you written? Give us an insight into your book
It is a collection of short stories – the plot, the characters, the dialogue, the setting are carved out of real life. Great care has been taken to blend fact and fiction. I have grown through every story. I would like to share the experience with the reader as well.
What made you write”Sparks from the hearth”
The inspiration has been my life itself and a strong desire to grow from the personal to the universal.
How long it took you to write the same?
These stories have been written at different points of time. Bringing them under one umbrella would have taken about two years.
What are your ambitions for your writing career.
The more I write the more I feel that I belong to humanity. I discover my universal longings through my stories.
What does your family think of your writing?
Good support. One can write only when the mind is set free.
Which writers inspire you? Why?
Ruskin Bond and Arundhati Roy. Ruskin Bond for his love of nature and
Roy for capturing native sensibility in English.

What is the hardest thing about writing?
To ensure that everything has fallen into the right places.
What advice would you give to aspiring writers?
Keep credibility and conviction as the governing principles of good writings.
