About Him: Rajan V Kokkuri hailing from Attoor, Kerala, an Engineering Designer by profession and lives in Muscat. Rajan is the author of 3 books by the name ‘I Remain Forever Yours’, ,My Precious Dreams & ‘The Invisible Love’. Rajan has also co-authored 3 Anthology short stories namely ‘Love Once Again in Life in Lockdown’ & Lockdown Diaries. Rajan’s ‘I Remain Forever yours’ has been featured as India’s one of the ‘Top 100 Debut Novel’. Rajan’s 2 poems won awards from Delslam.

So here is our conversation with Mr. Kokkuri
Congratulations for your 3RD book and for all the lovely reviews! How are you feeling?
Thanks, I am feeling humbled and happy. I got a surprise request from a relative in London who wanted to give his wife my three published English books for her birthday. I was surprised when he told me that he had previously given books by well-known authors such as Dr. Shashi Tharoor, whom I greatly admire.
As a child, what did you want to do when you grew up?
I’ve been fascinated by great leaders and writers since I was a child. I didn’t know what I wanted to be, but I knew I wanted to be someone who was always in contact with people.
I wished I could be a teacher, an army soldier like my father, a writer, a librarian, the owner of a bookstore, or, at the very least, a profession related to engineering, which I took up and somehow managed to meet all of my financial obligations and my children’s education.
How do you select the names of your characters?
This is the most difficult part of writing a story. I try to name them after people I know, in accordance with the story and geographical location on which the story is based.
Do you hear from your readers much? What kinds of things do they say?
Readers occasionally send me unexpected messages. They are mostly happy because I write stories about my life, old memories, and people close to my heart. They have the impression that I try to transport them to new places through my stories.
What is the next book that you have planned?
‘BORN TO DREAM’ is the title of my next book. It is about the founder of the BPL Group of Companies, Shri. T.P.G Nambiar. I started my career in BPL INDIA, and I am proud to say that TPG, the living legend, was my first inspiration to succeed in whatever I do. I’m compiling articles from former BPL employees like myself.
